Skills - Xura

A Skill is a curated bundle of prompt fragments + preferred tools + example flows that gives an Agent focused expertise (e.g., “sales-analyst”, “recruiter”, “SRE”).

Where they live

AI Studio → Skills.

Anatomy

Name & description — displayed on the Agent editor.
System prompt fragment — appended to the Agent’s base instructions when this skill is selected.
Preferred tools — the tools this skill knows how to use well.
Example prompts — optional, seed the agent’s few-shot examples.

When to build one

Build a Skill when:

You’ll create multiple Agents that all need the same domain knowledge.
You want to encode “how our team does X” in one place.
A recurring flow pattern would benefit from a reusable prompt.

When not to

Don’t build a Skill for a one-off Agent — just write the system prompt directly on the Agent.
